High above the hustle and bustle of everyday life, sits The General, Mt Hotham's premier events and function venue. With a great adaptable space The General can cater for six people work meetings through to stunning destination weddings in front of a breathtaking backdrop for 150 people.

With incredible views that will not only leave a lasting impression on your guests, but will make for simply stunning memories and photos. Over the years our brides and grooms have enjoyed panoramic vistas of clear, sunny blue skies and jaw-dropping sunsets that saturate the mountains in shades of pink and orange.  

The General's dedicated team will work with you to ensure that every detail of your special day is just right; from the planning stages right through to the day of your dream wedding. Whether you're looking for a detailed or minimalist ceremony, a large guest list or an intimate family affair, they'll bring your vision to life and leave you to celebrate your wedding in peace and serenity.

Facilities

With the help of local and boutique businesses who organise, cater and accommodate weddings, we'll make sure you celebrate in style! The General's function room has a private balcony and boasts a spectacular sunset view looking out over both the Dargo Plains and the Bogong High Plains. This room can comfortably seat 120 guests, or provide a cocktail setting for up to 200 guests.

The General also offers a range of complimentary services and products to take the hassle out of planning your special day:
•    Complimentary bridal accommodation for the wedding night, when you book the other 3 apartments and 4 studios
•    Linen hire
•    Dressed cake table and knife
•    Dressed table for personal use / photo props / guest comment book etc
