ALPINE CHALLENGE

HOME / Alpine Challenge

Push yourself to the limit with the Alpine Challenge, Australia’s toughest and most spectacular mountain trail run. Offering distances from 10km to the ultimate 100-mile (160km) challenge, this race will take you across Victoria's highest peaks and through breathtaking alpine landscapes. Whether you're running solo, in a team, or taking on the relay, this is a challenge like no other—one that will test your endurance and reward you with awe-inspiring views.

Choose your challenge: 100 mile, 100 km, 60 km, 42 km, 25 km, 16 km, or 10 km—available as individual, team, or relay events.

The 100-mile course features six major climbs and over 7,600m of elevation change, taking in Mt Feathertop, Mt Hotham, Mt McKay, and Victoria’s highest peak, Mt Bogong, plus river and ridge crossings.
The 100 km and 60 km routes offer 4,000m and 2,000m of ascent and descent respectively, while the 42 km includes over 900m of climbing—all set against the stunning backdrop of the Australian Alps.
Shorter distances (10, 16, and 25 km) provide a taste of alpine trail running, with scenic single tracks, historic huts, and sweeping views over Heathy Spur and Rocky Valley Dam.
