An easy-going loop walk behind the Alpine Base day shelter, affectionately known as 'The Moth' as it's design is based off the local Bogong Moth. Alpine Base is Hotham's home base for xc skiing and biathlon training in winter. The Biathlong trail follows the path of the winter biathlon athletes through the snow gums and back down part of the Brabralung trail, past Howards hut, to the day shelter.
For kids: If you look closely at the stone work out the back of the building, you might spot some familiar shapes!
