Mt Hotham Walking Season & Free Guided Walk!

Nature enthusiasts are invited to explore Mt Hotham’s iconic alpine tracks and trails with the official opening of Mt Hotham’s Summer Walking Season on Saturday, December 2nd. A free guided walk on opening day marks the beginning of a warm summer season filled with unique alpine flora, High Country history and endless breathtaking views.

Event Details

Date and Time: Saturday, December 2, 2023, starting at 09:00
Meeting Point: Resort Management Building
Route: Mt Loch and the Mt Hotham Huts Walk, concluding at Silver Brumby Hut
Duration and Distance: Approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes, walking 15 -18 kms
Guide: 1 registered local mountain guide
Group Size: Limited to 14 guests
Bushwalking experience and a reasonable level of fitness is recommended

The guided walk offers great views from Mt Loch, Golden Point and Spargo’s Hut, with the guide sharing insights into the diverse alpine flora and fauna, along with captivating stories of the region's history. Participants will traverse the stunning landscapes, including Mt Loch, the Australian Alps Walking Track, and the renowned Mt Hotham Huts Walk.
