Trail Description
The Mount Higginbotham Walk begins near Higgi Drive at Hotham Heights. The trail follows the Mount Higginbotham Track, ascending to the mountain’s summit at an elevation of 1,814 metres (5,951 ft). This route offers spectacular views of the surrounding alpine region, with the lookout providing the perfect setting for a sunset picnic or early morning hike.
Along the way, hikers will pass the Lindsay Salmon Memorial, commemorating a pioneer of ski development in Mount Hotham, before completing the loop by gently descending on Higgi Drive. The well-maintained track provides a moderately challenging hike with a mix of terrain, offering fantastic opportunities for photography, birdwatching, and soaking in the natural beauty of the Alpine Region.
