Mt Hotham Skiing Company (MHSC) is the largest operator at Hotham Alpine Resort and seeks motivated, innovative and dynamic individuals each year to join our team working at Hotham, at the top of the Victorian Alps.

Owned by Vail Resorts, the company is responsible for the ski field operations including snow grooming, snowmaking, lifts, snowsports school, hospitality, tickets, guest services, retail, equipment hire, property, maintenance, events, marketing, Hotham Airport and more.

We operate year-round with a permanent workforce of around 50 employees. During our winter season (June to October) we hire a huge range of snow jobs and our numbers grow to a whopping 500!

While previous snow experience is desirable it is not essential for many positions. Our huge variety of snow jobs means we've got a role for you. Whether you're an experienced instructor or groomer operator, want to deliver great customer service in a guest services, hospitality, retail or hire operation role, or if you've always wanted to be a lift operator - come join our team!

Is there staff accommodation available?

MHSC employees who request staff accommodation will be housed in Hotham Staff Accommodation, basing you on snow or in nearby village Dinner Plain. Most of our staff accommodation is in two to four-share rooms and you will have the option to request one other MHSC employee that you would like to share with. We will provide further information on how to request staff accommodation once you have signed an offer of employment.

How do I get to Hotham?

Hotham is a 4.5 hour drive from Melbourne. You can fly into either Melbourne or Albury and arrange a bus transfer to Hotham through Alpine Snowball Express or HothamBus.

There is a day bus service which operates between Hotham and Dinner Plain. No bookings are necessary, and the service is free to Hotham staff.

The Mount Hotham Resort Management Board provides a free internal village bus service to visitors and staff. You can catch it at any of the “Village Bus” bus stop signs which are located near most car parks, major lifts and accommodation.

Resort Entry & Parking

Resort Entry Permits are required for all cars stopping in a Victorian Alpine Resort during the designated snow season.
