Make the most of it!

It'll be another windy but mostly dry day on the mountain.  There's some high cloud above and some low cloud being blown through the village by a strong northwesterly wind.  The current temperature is just below zero, and we are heading for a top of 4 degrees...however the wind chill will make it feel much colder.

It was awesome to see so many young folks enjoying the Summit yesterday morning, and I hope you get another crack at it this morning.  The wind looks ok for the chairlift right now, but it may be impacted if it picks up too much more during the day. Get out there and make the make the most of it.

There's lots going on over the weekend with Retro Day kicking off tomorrow and Father's Day apres on Sunday. Our final day on Sunday is looking pretty nice, so get up here for a last hoorah if you can.

Cheers Bill

Backcountry Conditions

3 September The snow has had a shallow freeze overnight, so there will likely be a sliding hazard this morning. And the snowpack is getting thinner by the day, so many more hazards are becoming exposed, and the surface will likely be punchy and not riding or skiing too well. Take care if you must head out there.

. Mt Loch area not recommended today due to poor visibility. So maybe catch the DP bus to Dinner Plain and take a leisurely walk along the DP trail through the snow gums back to Hotham.

The Wire Plain trails are pretty much bare of snow.. You could go for a walk on the trails and have a picnic up up high with a view of the village, To avoid most of today's wind, take the bus to D.P. and do the leisurely walk back to Hotham.
TOBOGGANING AT MT HOTHAM. is STILL open for lots of fun and it is fFREE OF CHARGE for the last few days of the season.
The only place on Mt Hotham for tobogganing is at the HOTHAM HUB toboggan slope ( Wire Plain ) Bus stop 12.
The Hotham Hub has toilets, toboggan hire, hot food and drinks to make your experience all that more enjoyable.
The Peashooter toboggan slope at DP is now closed.

Best XC Skiing

village to about 30 metres short of the workshop is a bit rough , however still skiable at this stage.
