Another glorious day!
It's another clear star filled morning with a crescent moon shining bright above. The current temp is -1.6 and it should max out at 3 degrees and at the moment there's just a light breeze out of the NNW.
With favourable overnight conditions, the snowmakers had another solid run right across the valley, adding to the cover. The same lifts are ready to roll today on a surface that will be great underfoot with some machine made snow on top.
If predictions hold true, we should be moving into a more active weather pattern over the weekend with snow in the forecast. Let's see what it brings.....
Bill's arrival has been delayed, so you're stuck with me for a bit longer.

Backcountry Conditions
There is only marginal snow cover in the backcountry. There will icy conditions, particularly in shaded areas, thin cover and exposed hazards. Best to wait for better conditions before heading out.
Well ,its another glorious day for picnics .Get out and explore Watch those thin areas. There is no grooming of XC trails at present, however if you ski with care especially on downhill sections.you will have an enjoyable day. Take your classics. When we start grooming you will be the first to know!!!!

It will be firm again early, so take it easy It will soften during the morning. Our groomers are anxiously waiting for there to be enough snow depth and the right conditions for grooming to commence. Keep up the snow dances and fingers x'd for more of the white stuff.
Groomer Neil did a cheeky run through with the snow mobile on Saturday 4th, village to Whiskey Flat . Not grooming as such, still pretty rough, but was a bit of a pack down. So I do stress that care is needed as conditions are very variable.

The only place on Mt Hotham for tobogganing is at the HOTHAM HUB toboggan slope ( Wire Plain ) Bus stop 11.
The Hotham Hub has toilets, toboggan hire, hot food and drinks to make your experience all that more enjoyable.
The Peashooter toboggan slope at DP is also open.
