Bring your low lenses and potential flurries.
Yesterday was a tale of two halves. Those who got out early enjoyed some cold winter snow and then as the freeze level rose we did some drizzle and the snow transitioned to a soft spring like surface.
The current temp is -1.7 and we're heading for a max of -1degree. It's currently foggy in the village with a moderate wind out of NNW. There is the odd snowflake in the air, there's a few speckles on the radar and the forecast suggests we may see some snow showers throughout the day.
After yesterday's warming the temps have since dipped putting a freeze into the surface. The groomed runs will definitely be the best bet this morning and lower down in the valley will offer better visibility. Off piste could be challenging and best avoided until there's some softening so just feel it out before venturing too far afield. After today the good news is we should see some relatively stable weather heading into the weekend.
Bring your low light lenses, rug up and have a great day.
Cheers, Burner

Backcountry Conditions
There should good turns to be found in the backcountry today. There has been an extra 3 cm of fresh snow overnight adding to the previous days new snow. There will be good shallow fresh turns in many of the usual haunts, but beware of a slight crust lurking just underneath the surface. It may be supportable, or you may break through. And be cautious of wind slabs on very steep slopes, especially near ridge top at the higher elevations. Take care out there.
