The countdown is on: 100 days until the 2020 snow season

Posted 27 February 2020

The 2020 snow season is just 100 days away so to get you keen for the upcoming winter we’ve listed five must do experiences at Hotham, both on and off the slopes.

Ski And Board At Night

If you visit Hotham midweek or on the weekend and are staying on the mountain then a unique thing to experience is skiing or boarding under lights. Night sessions are held at Big D and Dinner Plain every Wednesday and Saturday during the season. With the slopes lit up, night skiing means you can enjoy the snow well after the other lifts on the mountain have stopped turning. More

Jack Frost

A new addition to Hotham’s hospitality offering last winter, Jack Frost is a great place to relax after a day on the slopes. Transformed into the luxurious lounge bar, Jack Frost offers one of Hotham’s finer drinking and dining experiences. Enjoy share plates or the modern Australian menu and with an extensive wine and cocktail list, Jack Frost will satisfy your post ski or board cravings. More

Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing is a great way to explore Mt Hotham and its surrounds at a slower pace. If you’re not a skier or boarder it’s an ideal way to get out and see what an incredible place Hotham is, with its natural beauty and stunning views. There is no cost for snowshoeing but if you’d prefer to head out on a guided trip you can book a tour with an experienced local operator. More

Howling Husky Sled Dog Tours

Ever wanted to be whisked through a winter wonderland, aka Hotham’s snow gum forests, in a sleigh pulled by Siberian Huskies. Howling Husky Sled Dog Tours can fulfil your wish with a memorable journey to some tranquil areas of Hotham. It’s an amazing experience to see these Siberian Huskies closeup and you can thank them afterwards with lots of pats and cuddles. More

Sunset Tours

There’s nothing like a mountain sunset and you can experience the best there is from the top of Mt Hotham on any given night during winter. You’ll be ferried to the summit of Hotham in a heated cabin on a Kassbohrer (the machine used to groom the snow) and once there, enjoy gourmet canapes, sparkling wine and beer and best of all, majestic views out across the Alps.
