National Disabled Winter Sport Day

Friday 16 August 2019

National Disabled Winter Sport Day is brought to you by Disabled Wintersport Australia (DWA) on Friday 16 August, 2019.

Celebrate diversity and overcoming adversity by raising awareness for the work of Disabled Wintersport Australia. Wear a touch of white to show your support!

DWA has grown from founders Ron Finneran and Nick Dean in the Piano Bar at Thredbo in 1978, to an organisation with over 1,100 members nationwide. DWA is now the national sporting organisation (NSO) body responsible for adaptive winter sports in Australia, and every year assists thousands of people with disabilities to participate in winter sports.

The Hotham community is an enthusiastic supporter of DWA’s activities, and a number of DWA clients and associates are well-known faces around the mountain.

To find out more about how DWA operates at Hotham and the impact it has on people’s lives, read here.
