BACKCOUNTRY SLED TOURS

About the experience

A custom designed snowmobile sled accommodates 4 people (ages 5+) pulled behind a large Wide/Long Tracked Snowmobile. Pickup is at SnowStuffPark (Bus Stop 12), meander down the resort management access tracks to the Snowplay Area at Wireplain.  From there, head into the real back country of Hotham and onto the top of Possum Flat where there is an ideal opportunity for a scenic shot.  After a short break to hear a little bit about the history of the Dargo Valley and Hotham, then head down into a snowy tree lined gully motoring through some deep stashes of snow, conditions permitting, then take ride through to the Dargo Lookout,  then it’s a pull up SnowStuff Hill back to SnowStuffPark.

Duration is 30-45 minutes depending on snow conditions. There is also the opportunity of a sunset tour that last approximately 1.5 hours. 

10 Minute scenic photo tours are also available for up to 4 people, this is ideal for those with small children.

New for 2018 is the half day Derricks Hut Tour that leaves from the Loch Car Park and must be pre-booked.  This tour is exceptionally scenic and give its location is highly weather and Snow Dependent.  It is only available for up to 4 people and includes a cooked lunch!  Pickup it at Bus Stop one for a short drive to the Loch Car Park where the tour departs from.

We accept Visa/Mastercard or cash. Creditcards need to be presented prior to trip commencing.

What do I bring?

• A sense of adventure!
• Warm waterproof clothes (conditions can change quickly)
• Warm preferably waterproof foot wear (no ski boots)
• Camera
• Beanie or hat
   

• Tours operate subject to weather and snow conditions, advance bookings can be made but will be confirmed an hour prior to ensure suitability.  
• Full refunds will be made available for cancelled tours.
• Seat belts must be worn at all times on sled.
• Patrons must not stand up whilst sled is moving.
• Patrons must keep legs and arms within the confines of the sled whilst moving.
• Operator reserves the right to cancel trip at anytime with no refunds should any safety measures be broken by the patron.
• Minimum of 2 adults required for 30 - 45 minute tour. All other tours are fixed price.
