This tour is unique to Australia and offers the snowgoer a scenic ride through the back country of Mt Hotham with sweeping views of the High Country.
A custom designed snowmobile sled accommodates 4 people (ages 5+) pulled behind a large Wide/Long Tracked Snowmobile. Pickup is at SnowStuffPark (Bus Stop 12), meander down the resort management access tracks to the Snowplay Area at Wireplain. From there, head into the real back country of Hotham and onto the top of Possum Flat where there is an ideal opportunity for a scenic shot. After a short break to hear a little bit about the history of the Dargo Valley and Hotham, then head down into a snowy tree lined gully motoring through some deep stashes of snow, conditions permitting, then take ride through to the Dargo Lookout, then it’s a pull up SnowStuff Hill back to SnowStuffPark.
Duration is 30-45 minutes depending on snow conditions. There is also the opportunity of a sunset tour that last approximately 1.5 hours.
10 Minute scenic photo tours are also available for up to 4 people, this is ideal for those with small children.
New for 2018 is the half day Derricks Hut Tour that leaves from the Loch Car Park and must be pre-booked. This tour is exceptionally scenic and give its location is highly weather and Snow Dependent. It is only available for up to 4 people and includes a cooked lunch! Pickup it at Bus Stop one for a short drive to the Loch Car Park where the tour departs from.
