Calling all Hotham skiers and riders…you won't want to miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a piece of Hotham history! Hotham's first-ever chairlift, The Playground double chair, which operated for almost half a century, has now been retired. While we're sad to see it go, we're thrilled to give you the chance to take home a piece of this iconic chairlift for yourself.

We're excited to announce that we're auctioning off 57 of these iconic chairs, giving you the chance to own a slice of Hotham's history. The auction will take place both in-person on Opening Weekend with around 15 or so chairs going under the hammer, and then Online with the remaining chairs the following week - ensuring everyone has the opportunity to place their bid.

All money raised, will be donated to local charities via the Epic Promise Foundation, built upon the  the promise of bringing together the mountains, our communities, employees and guests to ignite a passion for the outdoors, conserve the natural environment and support our local communities for a bright, sustainable future. Important Note: Chairs purchased must be collected from Mt Hotham Airport following closing weekend, between 8am and 4pm from Monday 2nd to Thursday 12th October by appointment. You will require at least a 6 x 4 trailer or single cab ute with suitable tie downs and at least two adults do assist with the lift in. We will be in touch with all successfull bidders closer to this date to organise collection. If for some reason you cannot make the collection window, a holding fee may apply.
