Sunshine and Cord!
It looks as though the Sun is back for Thursday, there's stars everywhere there's an alpenglow out to the East and it should be another great day to be in the mountains.
The current temperature is -2.3 and it's expected to max out at 5 degrees. Right now there's a moderate wind out of the ESE which will be felt early however it's expected to ease as the day progresses.
Even though the humidity was high last night the snowmakers were able to get a short run in topping up the cover. The best skiing and riding first up will be on the groomed runs and feels as though there's enough texture in the surface for some fun turns although it will start off firm. Again, off piste will have set up overnight so ease into it and wait for the more solar aspects to come into shape as the day warms.
Also best of luck to all the competitors competing in today's ANC SBX event up on the Road Runner track. It's sure to be an action packed day of racing full of thrills (and the occasional spill).
Pack the sunscreen, and have a great day out there.
Cheers, Burner.

Backcountry Conditions
We've had a decent freeze overnight so be aware of icy conditions. Many areas will soften on the solar aspects but be aware the southerly breeze is keeping many upper areas cold and icy. There will be a significant sliding hazard in areas. Take care out there.
Village to Skiers xing and through to Whiskey Flat groomed S/C. All Northside except Biathlon and Hurley's groomed. Southside, just Billy Howard.

Currently clear skies with stars.. It is pretty firm out there at present Will soften during the morning. MT. LOCH. If heading out to explore that area, let someone know of your plans. It will be very firm early. Always keep an eye out for rapid weather changes.Trail to DP groomed Saturday 9th August. Most of the trail has good cover and is in good condition. There are bare patches on the switch backs, currently avoidable with care. there are bare patches near J B plain, currently avoidable. No more grooming of this trail unless we have more snow.
There was a track of snow shovelled into the skier tunnel last Saturday for the race. This is short term and reducing, and you need to ski it carefully.
