Feel the carve and snow on the way!
After a warm and very blustery night, the temperature has dropped and the wind has backed off a notch but is still a strong northerly. The current temp is minus 1.5, heading for a top of 1 degree, there is high cloud in the sky, and we may see a snow shower or two during the day.
Due to the warm evening followed by rapid cooling in the last couple of hours, the snow is firm and slick out there this morning, but it should soften somewhat during the day. It'll be a good morning for arcing turns on the groomers, but I'd avoid anything off-piste until there has been significant softening. There'll hopefully be more significant softening with the top-up of snow expected over the next couple of days. Stay tuned!
Lifts are scheduled to open at 8.30 today but check the lift status before heading to your preferred option. Sharpen those edges and feel the carve!

Backcountry Conditions
3 August 2026
There is a significant sliding hazard in the backcountry today. The warming of yesterday followed by rapid cooling in the last couple of hours has caused a solid freeze, and all aspects and elevations will be icy and slick this morning. There may be some softening during the day but be very cautious of any steep slopes. Take Care!
Groomed again this am Village to Skiers xing, Groomed Whiskey Flat partway to Wire Plain. Combed, Rowards to 4 Ways, Wonderland.

Firm this morning , softening during the day. Cover still thin in spots, ski with care especially on down hill sections. Watch out for the Australian Defence Force teams training down around the Biathlon range and say hi .
