Check out the Cams. The Mountain Looks Awesome!

Yesterday was a pretty special, with cold dry turns on offer from start to finish, and it looks like we are in for a really nice one out there today.  The forecast is hinting at a possible snow shower or two late in the day, but the sky is mostly clear at the moment.  The current temperature is minus 2.3, heading for a top of zero and the wind is a light southerly.

The snow feels great underfoot, so there should be awesome turns on all of the groomed runs this morning and there will be plenty of really good off-piste options as well.  The groomers have been pushing big wind drifts and laying more corduroy all night long, so once the other operations teams have completed their work, we should see the whole resort up and running again this morning.  We should be in for an awesome Spring!

Heavenly Valley will be open for WRX First Tracks this morning.

Get out there and get into it!

Cheers Bill

Travel advice: Hotham is following all advice provided by Victoria Police. At this time, guests are advised to avoid travelling through Porepunkah when en route to Hotham. If you are approaching from Myrtleford, Porepunkah can be avoided with a detour via Running Creek/Tawonga on Happy Valley Rd > Kiewa Valley Hwy > Tawonga Gap Road. This will add approximately 30 minutes travel time to your journey. If you can, travel via Bairnsdale/Omeo is recommended, especially given the heavy snow forecast.

Backcountry Conditions

There will be plenty of good turns in the backcountry today, however you'll have to hunt around to find the best of them. The southerly wind exposed aspects have been stripped but the more sheltered and shaded zones will still have nice dry snow on them this morning. The snowpack will have stabilised considerably from yesterday but there is still the chance of sensitive wind slabs on some steep slopes, especially as the day warms. Take care out there.

Everything groomed again. Trail to DP, groomed yesterday and re grooming is underway and should be finished by 8 this morning
