The Hoy family have been operating in the Mt Hotham district for over 90 years. In 2022, Hoys completed a new Ski Shop in Omeo. Conveniently located in the centre of Omeo township on the Great Alpine Road (150 Day Avenue) – opposite Omeo’s only supermarket (Foodworks). This purpose built shop stock a quality range of snow accessories like gloves, goggles, headwear, thermals, socks, apres snow boots, helmets and some outerwear. Off street parking is available.
Your hiring needs are catered for with the latest skis, boards, boots, as well as snow play essentials like snow clothing, waterproof snow boots & toboggans. Back up service at any of Hoys 4 on mountain shops.
Quality snow chains hire & sales. Chain fitting & removal is demonstrated with each rental. Hire chains one way if crossing the mountain on the Great Alpine Road. Please contact Hoys prior to your journey as not all vehicles can fit snow chains to check your vehicle’s chain compatibility.
Please note:
- Travelling with trailers, caravans, motorhomes, boats ect is not advised during the snow season.
- No Cross Country (Nordic) or Demo skis are hired at Omeo shop but are available from Hoys on mountain shops.
- This shop is ONLY OPEN Friday through to Mondays & daily for 3 weeks of School Holidays starting from June 26th 2026 to 20th July 2026
