Buttermilk spiced chicken thigh, bacon, slaw and lime mayo to take the edge off … are your taste buds tingling yet? It’s obvious why this burger is such a hit, the most popular item on the lunch menu we hear from the kitchen.
After chatting to The Bird's new chef, Matt, it is clear he is all about efficiency, which is great for punters aching for a meal. The menu is simple, workable and runs perfectly from breakfast to lunch.
Matt has been cooking for 20 years in hotels, cafes and restaurants all over London and Australia – he knows his stuff. But before taking a job at The Bird, he was working in a mine in South Australia; everyone needs a change of pace but we’re sure glad he’s pushing out burgers up here now.
The breakfast menu is Instagram-able, especially with the breathtaking views in the background, sure to make your followers adequately jealous. There’s something for everyone, from savoury and perfectly poached smashed avo (pictured) to bright, sweet French toast served with berries and almond praline.
Or you can blow off the cobwebs from last night’s karaoke with The Bird’s Breakfast Special – their world-famous Bird Burger with a coffee for only $12.
If you’re looking for some snacks with your apres, the jalapeno poppers are a great choice; spicy, crunchy and filled with smooth cream cheese. So spicy in fact, you’ll need to follow them up with a beer or two … just a handy tip from me to you. You’re welcome.
