Super Sunday!

It's a cracker!  The sky is clear, there is hardly a breath of wind, the current temp is minus 2 and we are heading for a balmy top of 6 degrees.

The snow has had a good solid freeze overnight, so it'll be pretty hard and fast out there first thing this morning, but the east and north facing slopes will soon start to soften for really fun spring-like turns.  Stick to the groomers to start the day and wait for considerable warming before venturing off-piste.

Slap on the screen and follow the sun for good turns all day long.

And a massive thanks to our sponsors and all who came along in support of our amazing volunteer patrol last night.  The funds raised will certainly help us help you.

Cheers Bill

Backcountry Conditions

The base has had a solid freeze overnight, and the dusting of fresh that was on top has now melted and refrozen, so there will be a significant slide hazard on all steep slopes this morning. Solar aspects should soften for spring-like turns with some sun but shaded and south facing slopes will likely stay very icy and slick for the day. Take care out there.

Village to Whiskey Flat and Christmas Hill trails groomed . Trail to DP groomed right through.

Issued: Sun 3 August, 06:51AM

Christmas Hill trails will be hard and fast, groomed up really well. Trail to DP was groomed at 4am , not a perfect finish and will soften early. There is a track of snow shovelled into the skier tunnel. This is short term and you need to ski it carefully.. Yesterdays PUB TO PUB xc race was a resounding success. Over 90 participants. Thanks to AAC (Australian Alpine Club),, Wang ski club ,all the amazing volunteers and ARV for road control;. And of course the GROOMING TEAM! Will post the winners later. You can buy your bus ticket on the DP bus by using the QR code on the bus.

Best XC Skiing

Pretty much all of it. Groomers comment, Christmas Hill trails the pick. Pack your nibbles and go ski your sox off. Check out the NEW WIRE PLAI N HUB for a warm up and a hot drink.

Cheers Bev.
