Despite the recent bushfires affecting East Gippsland the annual Hinnomunjie Races are going ahead this Labour Day weekend.
The Hinnomunjie Picnic Races has a rich history and is steeped in heritage, as the oldest picnic race its side of the divide having been established in 1876.
Hosted by the Omeo and District Racing Club this unique event high in the Australian Alps includes six trophy races and a wide range of side attractions.
This year is the 144th edition of this High Country race meeting so frock up, head along and enjoy the great family fun day on Saturday 7th March.
Buses will be available for pick up and drop offs at Ensay, Swifts Creek and Omeo while there is ample accommodation in and around Omeo.
Following the day's action make your way to Omeo's Hilltop Hotel to enjoy a meal and live entertainment.
