7 'HARD TO SAY NO' BENEFITS OF OWNING A HERO PASS

Posted 31 August 2018

Wow! What a winter 2018 has been.  Consistent snowfalls from early June have provided amazing conditions to date, which has seen Hotham’s snow base rise to over 2 metres.  This is the first time since 2003/2004 the resort has recorded back-to-back years where the snow depth has peaked at over 200cm’s.  With metres of snow on the ground, and great spring riding ahead of us, it’s hard to believe it’s already time to start thinking about lift pass choices for next year.  There are many benefits to owning a Hotham Hero Pass, please read on to see how this product could benefit you.

1. Access Australia’s best terrain and best snow

Hotham plays host to some of the countries most exhilarating advanced terrain.  The more experienced riders will love exploring the perfect grooming found on Heavenly Valley or over at the Orchard, whilst on a powder day, these areas offer incredible powder riding on a series of ridges, bowls and gullies.  For the experts, the Gotcha Chair accesses some of Australia’s steepest inbounds terrain, with amazing powder turns to be had on the right day.  Early birds also catch the worm at Hotham, with Heavenly Valley pinning from 7:30am Wednesday through to Sunday.  Beginners and intermediates are also well catered for with the Summit, Big D and Roadrunner Chairs all offering gentle slopes and wide open spaces.

2. Value for Money

Compared to many other snow resorts around the world, the Hero Pass is significantly cheaper, in some cases half the price.  Instead of having to pay the total amount up front, to help ease the pressure, you also have the option of putting a deposit down now, and pay the remaining balance in 2019.  Even better, the Hero Pass is Australia’s only multi-resort pass including access to Hotham and Falls Creek. That’s 770 hectares of combined terrain options to ride over the season.

3.  Ride whenever you want (no blackout dates)

This is a huge advantage compared to many other discount pass products.  Many overseas pass products seem attractive at a glance, but when you look closely, there are restrictions on when you can actually use them (i.e. no weekends or holiday periods).  With the Hero Pass there are no restrictions or black out dates.  You and the family can enjoy skiing or snowboarding at Hotham all season long.  On top of this, enjoy unlimited access to Falls Creek on the same pass.

4. Bring a friend for free

No, this is not a typo.  With every adult Hero pass purchase, you are entitled to a free one-day lift pass voucher to be enjoyed by a friend (how good’s that).

5. Learning to ski or ride discounts

For those learning to ski or snowboard, or the more experienced wishing to fine tune their skills, Adult Hero Pass holders are entitled to discounts with Hotham’s Ski and Ride School.  Home to some of the worlds most experienced and qualified instructors, take advantage of their knowledge and teaching techniques, to help take your skiing and snowboarding to the next level.  The children aren’t forgotten about either, with discounts offered on Kids Club programs.

6. Who likes shopping?

If it’s retail therapy your after, this is where you’ll find the Hero Pass useful.  Aside from offering value for money on the slopes the pass will also have you smiling off the slopes.  Many of Hotham’s retail outlets offer discounts to pass holders.  One Tree Sports, Pinnacle, Board Box and The Alpine Life are just some of these outlets to name a few.

7.  Last minute trips to Hotham

Take advantage of great early season conditions, surprise snowfalls or epic spring skiing.  Jump in the car and head to Hotham to take advantage of conditions as they arise.  You will be far more likely to capitalise on last minute opportunities, if you’ve already pre-purchased a Hero Pass.

Of course there are many more advantages to owning a resort seasons pass, hopefully the above-mentioned points has you inspired for next winter.  With 2017 and 2018 proving to be epic snow seasons here’s hoping for a 3 repeat in 2019.  Bring on the snow!
