Hotham - Dinner Plain DAY Bus Service

The Hotham - Dinner Plain Bus service operates during the day and night between Hotham and Dinner Plain

Please note the below prices are for 2011 and should be used as a guide only. 2012 prices will be released early next year.

Hotham - Dinner Plain Day Bus Service

Christian's Bus Co. is contracted by the Alpine Shire as the official operator of the transport link between Dinner Plain and Hotham.

The cost of the trip itself is free however resort gate entry must be paid to get into Hotham Alpine Resort which is $15 for adults and $7.50 for children.

The buses are fully air-conditioned, have extra large underfloor luggage compartments for equipment storage and the regular vehicles even boast automatically fitted wheel chains operated from the drivers seat whilst the vehicle is in motion.

Bookings are not necessary and tickets may be purchased from the driver or from selected outlets within Dinner Plain Village.

Simply wait at one of the three pickup points within the Dinner Plain Village and the bus will come along at the appropriate time. The three bus locations include the front of Onsen Retreat & Spa, on Halter Lane just down from the corner of Big Muster Drive and at the bottom of Halter Lane.

There are two pick up points within Hotham Alpine Resort - one in front of the Transit lounge at the Resort Management Board building and one in front of the Big D. Just look for the red bus signs.

Helpful Tips to Assist You with Catching the Bus

  • Be at the bus stop at least 10 minutes prior to departure
  • Try to have correct change for purchase of your ticket
  • Adverse weather road/weather conditions may affect timetable
  • Departures from Cuff 'n Collar Lane and Halter Lane take place approximately 5 minutes before Dinner Plain departure times listed below
  • Departures from Big D take place approximately 2 minutes after Hotham departure times listed below
  • For faster equipment retrieval memorise the hire number or identity of your skis as they are stored in the underfloor bins for transport
  • For a more efficient journey remember your bus stop number and advise the driver when boarding for your return journey.
