Fun in the sun
18 June 2006
It's the opening weekend of the Victorian School Holidays and where are all the people??? Glorious sunshine, discount lift tickets, great family skiing and no crowds. Well that’s the way it is up here today.
With a great cover of man made snow on the Big D and fantastic sunshine I decided it was time to test out those new Skis I've been dreaming about all summer, hoping for a rock free couple of runs I was amazed at the amount of snow the boys have made.
There was heaps of that magic white stuff nothing but smiles all round on the Big D today.
Mums, Dads, Granpops the kids even some hot shots too, we were all "happy as Larry” as we made our way straight on to the chairlift in the sunshine.
These guys have been making so much snow I heard a rumor that the Village Chair Loop might be up and running this week, all thanks to our new snowmaking dam.
With not a lot of action on the weather map its still a good start to the season and who cares if Mary’s Slide isn’t open, by the looks of the smiles I saw today you would think we were skiing Aspen for free! As for the new skis you ask, awwwwesome.
See ya out there.
