Mt Hotham Snowpatch thesis

Aaron Harvey has written a thesis on the snowpatches around Mt Hotham as part of his Science studies at Deakin University. Field work was carried out over a period of 18 months, with a minor interruption caused by the 2003 fires.

Snowpatch vegetation accounts for less tha 1% of the Alpine areas, which in turn occupies less than 1% of Australia. Therefore making these snowpatch areas one of the rarest vegatation types in Australia. Quite a number of rare and/or vulnerable plant species were recorded during the study.
