Hotham Alpine Resort is one of Victoria’s premier alpine recreation destinations. It holds the unique position of being the highest alpine village in Australia and the reputation of being the Resort for “serious” skiers and boarders.
The Mt Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board is a State Government Business Enterprise (SGBE) responsible for the overall operation of various services across Hotham.Â
The services provided by the Board include intravillage bus transport, ski patrol, traffic & parking control, snow clearing, crosscountry ski trail grooming, Crown Lease administration, utilities & infrastructure (potable water supply, sewerage, garbage collection, drainage and roads), local council services, plus community and public facilities.
During the winter months Mt Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board employs willing, flexible and able staff to assist in the running of our winter operations. The positions available with Resort Management for the 2012 season are:

BRIEF POSITION OUTLINES
The Mount Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board (RMB) under the Alpine Resorts (Management) Act 1997 is responsible for the collection and disposal of garbage from Hotham Alpine Resort.
The Board maintains a fleet of garbage collection vehicles, including oversnow vehicles, dedicated to the function of garbage collection and operates and maintains a 1.988 hectare landfill site for disposal of waste from the resort.
Staff employed in this area will be responsible for the collection and disposal of all recycled and domestic waste throughout the Resort. All vehicles must be operated and staffed with individuals who are safety conscious and display excellent communication skills. All duties will be outside therefore you will be exposed to inclement weather and must be confident in driving in these conditions. You will be provided with a uniform and protective equipment.Â
Successful candidates will work from 5am to 3pm. Most days the collection can be completed in an 8 hour shift or less, although during peak season times the collection may require a full 10 hour shift.

Mt Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board (RMB) is responsible for providing the Village Transport and Parking Control Services at Hotham. Transit Operators will have a varied role that comprises of both bus driving and traffic control duties.Â
Staff employed in this area will be responsible for the transporting of passengers, whether they are snowboarders, skiers or pedestrians around the village. Staff will be responsible for the directing of visitor traffic into the different car parking areas within the Resort and providing visitor information to guests when required.
Shift work is required and you will be quite often expected to work under pressure and autonomously. Shifts commence at various times of the day and are usually between 8hrs and 10 hrs in duration.Â

This position is the first face to face contact that our guests will have with anyone on Hotham. Staff in these positions represent the mountain and Mount Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board. Located in the village, Guest service staff are responsible for assisting guests with purchasing resort entry permits (Alpine Easy Access) and providing visitor information. Customer service is of the highest priority for all Guest Service staff and everyone is expected to wear a smile to work.

Mt Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board (RMB) is responsible for providing the Village Transport for Hotham Alpine Resort. As part of the maintenance of our bus fleet daily washing, cleaning and inspecting of our fleet is required.
Bus Cleaners will be required to wash /clean our full fleet of buses (inside and out) using our fully equipped wash bay and conduct daily vehicle inspections of all buses. Inspections will include checking lights, horn, making sure all safety equipment is in place and usable, checking oil and fluid levels, topping up if necessary, fueling buses etc.
Staff will be required to work split shifts. The morning shift begins at 5am depending on bus numbers and finishes at 8 or 9am. The afternoon shift begins at 5.30 or 6pm with finish times depending on bus numbers.

• A background in mechanical trade or aptitude (required by not necessary)

Ski Patrollers deliver professional first aid and evacuation services to injured people. In addition the patrol has a primary role in risk management and accident prevention. Each patroller must also be able to work within and contribute constructively to a strong team.
The prerequisite qualifications for the described position at Hotham include:
• successful completion of the Australian Ski Patrol Association First Aid certificate or equivalent
• demonstration or proof of on-snow skills and patrol experience
• good health and physical fitness are also necessary
This position reports to the Ski Patrol Manager and is responsible for ensuring efficient, professional and safe operation of the ski fields, delivery of first aid and evacuation services and customer service on a daily basis.
Ski Patrollers are appointed for the delivery of services to the snow season program and the term of their employment is linked to resort labour requirements, which in turn is linked to snow fall, snow depth, weather conditions and visitor numbers. The position is located at Hotham Alpine Resort.
Weekend and shift work will be required through the snow season, including possibility of search and rescue duties.
Award Wages will apply. Must have Drivers Licence (snowmobile operations).
The position requires snow grooming of resorts cross country trail network to a high customer standard.
