47 centimetres of fresh powder!

47 centimetres of fresh powder!

26 August 2010

We hit the slopes at 7.30am and could not believe our eyes... with 47cm of fresh snow in the last 24 hours, and still snowing heavily for the entire day, you could not ask for better conditions at Hotham at the moment. The powder was literally above our knees, in fact one of our office gals found herself up to her armpits wallowing in mountains of fresh powder and unable to get herself upright again. What a charming predicament to be in!

Heading up the first Heavenly chair, we could hear nothing but woops and hollers of delight. No-one could keep upright in such deep snow but no-one cared... it has truly been an amazing day on the slopes... one for the memory bank. If you are not up here, strap your skis to the roof and head for the hills on the double, this is one weekend not to be missed!

If you are coming from Melbourne, we recommend you take the Omeo approach as the Harrietville approach is currently closed. Check out this photo of Jess, in the thick of it on Blue Ribbon!
