Mount Hotham Skiing Company (MHSC) staff were delighted to visit the Melbourne Aquarium this week and welcome Australia’s first Gentoo penguin chick. The Melbourne Aquarium is MHSC’s sister company and we couldn’t resist sharing this photo with our Hotham friends! These birds love the snow just as much as we do!
Parents Finn and Pickles couldn’t be more proud, fussing over their chick to make sure it is warm enough and well fed. Several other Gentoo penguin couples are still sitting on eggs and keepers are hoping for the arrival of more chicks before Christmas!
