The last hurrah!

The last hurrah!

25 September 2008

It didn't take much convincing - Tom wandered into the office this morning and asked us to come out for one last ski for the season. With the sky a bright blue, we thought we owed it to the slopes to get out there one more time. The conditions were much better than expected - Cornice and Black Snake were definitely the pick of the bunch with fast lines and a still strong base.

Heavenly Valley has been perfect all season and it is still going strong. The addition of snowmaking to that area has made all the difference to Hotham this year. Stopping only for a quick coffee at Snake Gully Hut, we managed to squeeze in four or five quick runs to say goodbye to the 2008 season.

Taking out the unwaxed skis was probably not my best decision and I'm feeling the thigh burn now, but it was definitely worth it - the last hurrah. It has been a spectacular season - thanks Hotham slopes, see you next year!!
