Sitting on the chairlift this morning surrounded by mountains of powder with the sun shining and birds singing, one couldn’t help but think this was an early taste of Spring skiing.
If you are lucky enough to be up at Hotham this week head on over to Snake Gully Hut, at the bottom of Heavenly Valley Lift where you can marvel at the speed and skill of elite athletes from around the world who are competing in the FIS Continental Cup. The testing terrain at Hotham is perfect for this challenging and exciting event which includes Giant Slalom and Slalom races. The course starts at the top the Cornice before swinging into Snake Gully.
They say one can not come to the snow without expecting 4 seasons in a day and though the cloud has now moved in, Hotham visitors are out in force hitting the slopes and enjoying the awesome packed snow. With more snowfalls forecasted over the next few weeks it seems snow-junkies will all be out singing with the birds this Spring.
