10cm fresh snow

10cm fresh snow

Hotham has received 10cm of fresh snow in the past 24 hours with the majority falling last night. Mother Nature hasn’t been kind to us in the past couple of days with mostly foggy conditions and high winds but it’s easy to forgive her when the result of such bad weather is a lot of lovely snowflakes!

The snowguns have had a bit of a break with warmer conditions the past couple of nights, but temperatures dropped down to a very chilly -6 degrees last night so the guns fired up again to lend a helping hand and snowmaking is still in progress. The forecast maximum for today is -4 degrees, so if you’re out enjoying the fresh powder, make sure you rug up and come inside for a well-deserved hot chocolate when you need to!

We're happy to announce that following the recent snowfalls and cold temperatures, we will be re-opening Cobungra Platter in Dinner Plain at 9am tomorrow (Tuesday August 7).

In the forecast is a further 5cm of fresh snow for today and according to Weatherzone, it is likely to snow from Wednesday through to Saturday, with a whopping 20cm predicted for Friday.

August is shaping up to be a white and wintery one with lots and lots of snow in the mix – just the way we like it! Time is running out to take a break from your life and spend some time on the snow at Hotham. Chuck a snowie today and visit the Hotham eStore to organise everything from lift passes to snowsports lessons and equipment hire before you even arrive.

See you on the snow!
