The Cool Summer Festival is still going ahead this weekend, despite the recent fire activity throughout Victoria this month. There have been some concerns regarding the fact that the state is under a high fire alert today, however there are no fire threats around Mt Hotham and Dinner Plain, or even anywhere nearby. The Great Alpine Rd is fully open from Wangaratta to Bairnsdale. The festival committee has a full fire plan in conjunction with the local CFA that can be launched immediately should any fire threat occur over the weekend. Temperatures are forecast to be cool and calm over the weekend. All artists are still playing and the festival in its entirety will go ahead as planned.
