Revegetation project nearing completion... 32,412 native plants have a new home at Hotham
23 March, 2009
Hotham's revegetation project in the Heavenly Valley area is nearing completion. Over the summer, more than 32,000 native plants (a mixture of grasses and shrubs) have been planted by a team of four employees. The project has been overseen by Dave King, Falls Creek Ski Lifts Land Manager.
This project forms part of Hotham’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the continued sustainability of the alpine environment. It is also integral to the implementation of Hotham’s best practice environmental plan which includes the use of 100% green power by TRU Energy for all of our snowmaking operations.
This commitment to environmental sustainability saw Hotham as the first resort in the world to make snow from recycled water with the recently completed $8.36 million water recycling project.
