In a warm up for today’s AFL Grand Final, yesterday Hotham instructors and guests played out an interesting game that involved ski boots, snow and a Sherrin.
Two valiant teams went head to head, striving for the glory of the Extreme Snow Footy Premiership. The St Kilda Reds took on the Collingwood Blacks and it was the Saints that emerged triumphant.
Each team fought bravely, the sun was shining, the snow was cold and the ski boots were stiff.
There were big kicks, classic marks and some snowy tackles. Everyone enjoyed themselves and agreed that snow footy definitely takes it out of you.
The red black and white took the cup by 6 points. Could it be a prediction of what it to come today?
Don’t miss the AFL action today at Hotham, the Grand Final will be screened at Swindlers, The General Store, Snowbird, Rundells and Cilantro in Dinner Plain and the DP Hotel.
The DP Hotel will have free beer from first bounce to first goal and free pies at half time; Cilantro will host a Spanish Seafood Buffet from 12 noon; Swindlers are throwing some 'shrimp on the barbie' out on the deck; Rundells has $4 pots on offer; whilst The General Store has footy giveaways and prizes;
