Hotham Skiing Company is currently looking for a new Retail Operations Manager. Based at Hotham Alpine Resort this year-round role offers a fabulous opportunity to live and work in one of Australia’s premier snow resorts. This is a full-time role - Monday to Friday during the summer months (with some weekend work) and six days per week in winter.Â
This senior role offers the opportunity to assist in reaching sales targets and play an integral role in the growth of the business through retail sales across five key retail locations at the resort including Pinnacle Hotham, The Board Box, Zirky’s Boutique, Big D Kids & Pinnacle DP.Â
This role reports to the Tickets & Retail Manager and manages a team of retail sales staff between May and October. The position liaises closely with the Retail Buyer, Rentals Manager and external suppliers.
In this position you will:
• Recruit and manage a team of casual staff across a seven day operation (winter only)
• Develop rosters within budgets and provide regular tracking reports
• Train new staff and lead a team of seasonal workers with staggered starts
• Assist with buying programs and store merchandising
To be successful you will have experience in a retail business or group of businesses and preferably some exposure to snow or surf industry retail. You will be professional, reliable and able to motivate a team. You must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; have strong computer skills; and a working knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, POS systems and tracking reports.
