Faster resort entry a holiday bonus

Faster resort entry a holiday bonus

With over 25,000 people visiting Hotham during the school holidays to make the most of the terrific snow conditions it was great to see our new ticketless resort entry system, Alpine Easy Access, be put through its first big test.

Visitors to Hotham were the first skiers in Australia to be able to pre-purchase resort entry permits online, which eliminates the need to stop at the resort entry gates to collect fiddly paper stickers in the freezing cold!

Guests also enjoyed the new SMS alert service which sends you a notification when your permit is about to expire. Now there is no need to sacrifice precious skiing time to head back to your car to replace the permit if you need to extend your stay - you simply renew by calling the automated phone service (phone 03 9988 4168, and quote location ID 2839) or via the Mt Hotham and Alpine Easy Access websites.  Just think, if you have a smartphone with internet access, you can do it whilst you're on the chairlift!

All vehicles that need to stop in the resort must pre-purchase a valid resort entry permit. For faster access to Hotham and more time on the slopes, we highly recommend you organise your resort entry before you leave home, as part of your holiday planning process.  Off-mountain point of sale kiosks are available at Hotham Sports (Harrietville), Hoys (Harrietville and Dinner Plain), and Billie’s Ski Hire (Omeo) and Rays Ski Hire (Myrtleford). Look out for the iPad kiosks in store when you stop to get chains for your vehicle. On-mountain you can use the kiosk at Guest Services in Hotham Central or head to the Resort Management Board office.

Online sales for permits apply to day and multi day passes only, season passes (the equivalent of 10 single day passes) still need to be purchased at the Resort Management Board Office and displayed on your windscreen. For full terms and conditions about resort entry click here.
