TOP CHEFS TO COOK UP A (SNOW) STORM TO LAUNCH SEASON AT HOTHAM ALPINE RESORT AND DINNER PLAIN VILLAGE
With the wintery weather already upon us and the first flakes of snow already fallen, Hotham Alpine Resort and Dinner Plain Village are gearing up for what promises to be an exciting Opening Weekend on 10 – 13 June.
The official launch of the 2011 season will see a number of Australia’s most reputable chefs visit the high country to showcase their culinary talents in a sensational line-up of fine food and wine events. The schedule will include:
Richard Thomas at Brandy Creek and Mountain Kitchen, Dinner Plain – Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June, 3pm-5pm
Cheese making pioneer, Richard Thomas, will present the best of local and international cheeses matched with local wines. Ph: 03 5159 6488.
Frank Camorra at Cilantro Restaurant, Dinner Plain – Saturday 11 June, 7pm
Frank Camorra, owner and Executive Chef of MoVida restaurants, will return to Cilantro Tapas & Wine Bar to create an indulgent Spanish-inspired alpine feast and conduct a book signing. Ph: 03 5159 6799.
Conviction Kitchen Team at Alphutte Restaurant, Dinner Plain – Sunday 12 June, 12pm-2pm
Enjoy Sunday lunch with some of the team from Conviction Kitchen including Lisa Parker (Front of House). Enjoy their cooking and a behind-the-scenes insight into the show. Ph: 03 5159 6620.
Matt Germanchis at Rundell’s Alpine Lodge, Dinner Plain – Sunday 12 June, 7pm
Matt Germanchis from innovative new Melbourne restaurant, Pandora’s Box, will prepare a delicious menu at Rundell’s Alpine Lodge, inspired by the region’s local produce. Ph: 03 5159 6422.
Michael Ryan at Tsubo Bar and Restaurant, Dinner Plain – Monday 13 June, 7pm
Owner of Beechworth’s two-hatted Provenance restaurant, Michael Ryan, will host a dinner at Japanese restaurant, Tsubo, showcasing the local food and wine of the North East Victorian region. Ph: 03 5159 6622.
In addition to these culinary highlights, the season will go off with a bang as a spectacular fireworks display lights up the sky in Dinner Plain on Sunday evening at 7pm. The official season opening will be held on Saturday 11 June in the morning at Hotham Alpine Resort. Further details to come close to the time.
