The new Winter Alps Bus Link service that began last week and will run until 4 October will provide public transport in the region for the first time. The service links the regional towns of Wangaratta, Bright, Omeo and Bairnsdale along the Great Alpine Road, allowing guests to travel right from Melbourne or Sydney to Hotham using public transport. The service runs every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday, twice a day.
This service is a safe, cheap and convenient way to get right to the resort, hassle free. This project is being delivered as part of the Let’s GET Connected and North East Transport Connections projects in collaboration with the Department of Transport. It is the only service of its kind to a Victorian ski resort, making Hotham the most accessible ski resort in Australia, with both a public transport system and direct flights from Sydney to the resort.
The service from Bright to Mt Hotham costs only $3.60, or $1.80 with a concession card. From Omeo to Hotham, the service costs just $4.60 and $2.30 with a concession card.
This is fantastic opportunity for guests, making Hotham the easiset and best resort to access in all of Australia. Make sure you make the most of it!
