Mountain Fresh Festival

Mountain Fresh Festival

Get set for your taste buds to be tantalized with the very best local produce and wines from the Alpine Valleys when Jack Frost launches this year's Mountain Fresh Festival on Friday 23rd July. What could be better after an epic sesh on the slopes than to cosy up to Jack Frost's intimate bar whilst the friendly staff tempt you with delcious tasting plattters, local wine and beer end even lucky door prizes! Blues musician Ben Smith will set the scene with fantastic cruisy tunes for what will be a night for all the senses.

Here's our pick of the bunch for Mountain Fresh Festival:

Meet Your Maker’ Masterclass and Dinner will be on at Blakes @ Zirky’s on Monday 26th July featuring a master class and wine matching dinner. The event will be hosted by wine critic Greg Duncan Powell and he will discuss the trends in “new varieties” in wine. Featuring wines from Rutherglen Estates, Pizzini Wines and Dal Zotto; it will be followed by a three course dinner served with wines from these wineries. Greg Duncan Powell will be on hand signing copies of his book ‘A Rump & A Rough Red’.

The gloves (or should that be oven mitts?) will be off at The Mountain Fresh Top Chef Challenge. Come and see our talented chefs cook off against each other creating their own Mountain Fresh Dish using regional produce. We invite you the punter to have your say and vote for your favourite dish of the festival. Up for grabs is the chance to take home the coveted titled of Top Chef 2010 which will be announced at a special awards night Wednesday 28th July at Rundells Alpine Lodge Dinner Plain.

There are plenty more gourmet experiences to be had so do your taste buds a favour and come up to Hotham for Mountain Fresh Festival. For booking details and more information, pick your copy up at local visitor information centres, various outlets around Mt Hotham and Dinner Plain or visit the festival’s website by clicking here.
