With only 30 sleeps til the official start of the winter season, preparations are well underway for a fantastic season at Hotham Alpine Resort.
The ground is cold and ready, as seen by the settling of snowflakes over two days of snowfalls this week. It's been a chilly week with temperatures dropping below zero every night and total snowfalls of around 5cm.
22 new snowguns are being installed in Heavenly Valley including two TechnoAlpin guns on arms that provide greater spread and hangtime (for snowflakes to get to the ground). The other mobile guns are being readied to take their place by the end of this month. This $1.7M investment in snowmaking will increase production by 40 percent.
Super passes are still available if you want to ski three resorts for the price of one in 2010. For $1149 you can ski Hotham, Falls Creek and Perisher (NSW) if you purchase your season pass before 5pm on May 27, 2010. Click here to find out more and buy your pass.
Exciting times ahead and the countdown is on!
