Hotham has officially opened Village, Road Runner and Upper Playground chairlifts this morning – the earliest these lifts have opened since the epic 2000 season. This brings our total to 6 lifts open including Summit Trainer, Summit Quad and Big D.
Along with some great natural snowfalls from Mother Nature last week the ability to open the Village Loop can be greatly attributed to the hard work of Hotham’s Snowmaking team who have pumped out a huge 43,943 cubic metres (4394 truckloads of snow) over the last 4 days.
The good news is a lot of this snow has been laid down on the Heavenly Valley area, bringing us closer to opening Heavenly Valley chair. The area is still in the process of being track packed to ensure quality and safety of these runs.
