The APSI National Demo Team are heading overseas in 2011 to represent Australia at Interski in Saint Anton and will be hosting a fundraising event this Thursday 13 August from 7.30pm at the General Store to help support their trip.
APSI National Team was chosen in August 2008 and includes 9 skiers, 4 snowboarders and 2 telemarkers. Interski is an international skiing congress attended by a national team from all skiing nations. The information gained from attending Interski and the presentation given by the Australian team at the event is used by the APSI to shape our teaching philosophy for the subsequent four years.
The team has already had two training sessions and there will be one at every major Australian resort leading up to January 2011. These training sessions assist with fundraising and provide training to the public and the various ski schools around the country.
Team members from Mt Hotham who made it through the challenging test to qualify last year include Richard Jameson, Demelza Clay and Andrew Dean.
In true Hotham style the fundraising evening will host a doubles 501 darts competition with cash, door and raffle prizes up for grabs. Entry is $20 per darts team or $5 per non player.
