The first snowflakes preceding the winter season have fallen at Hotham Alpine Resort today.
Snow had been forecast to fall today with the first flakes falling in the early afternoon. The current temperature is -1.3 degrees and today’s snow fell down to 1400m.
The light dusting of snow settled on the ground in Hotham and Dinner Plain to the joy of residents and visitors. Much of this has melted now but with more snow forecast for tomorrow it looks like winter is here to stay.
Predictions for the 2010 winter season are very positive to date.
