Hotham has just wrapped up an awesome weekend of events with Mother Nature turning on perfect sunshine and some fresh snow falling just intime on Friday morning.
Hotham played host to the FIS ANC Snowboarder Cross with 8 of the top 16 male boardercross riders in the world competed representing countries including Australia, Canada, Czech Republic and Japan.
Competition for the championship title was fierce with the top ranking riders in the men’s division on both Saturday and Sunday internationally dominated by Canada and Czech Republic.
Day one of races saw Robert Fagan from Canada taking out 1st place, followed by Michal Novotny in 2nd from Czech Republic, Francois Boivin in 3rd place from Canada, and David Bakes from Czech Republic coming in 4th.
The women’s division put on a battle through burms, chutes, rollers and kickers to gain the title with Dominique Maltais and Maelle Ricker from Canada in 1st and 2nd, followed by Natsuko Doi from Japan and Aussie Stephanie Hickey in 4th place.
Top spots on day two were taken out by Mike Robertson from Canada in 1st place, David Blakes from Czech Republic in 2nd place, and Robert Fagan and Simon Bonenfant from Canada coming in 3rd and 4th respectively.
Day two of the women's division saw strong talent from Saturday taking out places again with Dominique Maltais from Canada coming in 1st place, Natsuko Doi from Japan 2nd, Stephanie Hickey from Australia stepping up to 3rd, and Maelle Ricker from Canada in 4th place.
The Bangers and Mash Rail Bash presented by OME also drew in the crowds on Saturday night in the Basin Rail Park where 50 keen entrants battled it out to take the glory.
