Hotham has just opened Heavenly Valley chairlift - spinning for the first time in 2010. Access to Milky Way and Snake Gully runs is now open which is good news for intermediate and advanced skiers.
This is a welcome addition for school holiday guests visiting Hotham as there are now five lifts operating including Heavenly Valley, Village Chair, Upper Playground, Summit Trainer and the Big D. Pups Playground carpet is also operating at the Big D to provide a great learning area for the kids.
Belinda Trembath, Mount Hotham Skiing Company General Manager said “The opening of Heavenly Valley chairlift is a great addition for guests visiting Hotham to enjoy some more of our intermediate terrain.”
“We are excited to see another lift open and with a little assistance from Mother Nature, look forward to opening more of Hotham’s signature Heavenly Valley terrain as soon as conditions permit.”
Snowguns have just been swtiched off after 185 hours straight of operation - 12,024 truckloads or 120,410 cubic metres of snow has been made in that period and it's time for the snowmaking team and the guns to have a mini rest! Cold conditions are ensuring the snow stays in good condition. Great work snowmaking team!
