| Sled dogs in action at Dinner Plain |
|
Dinner Plain Village is proud to be home to the only Sled Dog race in Australia held in the snow. With most alpine resorts being on Crown Land in the midst of National Park, Dinner Plain's freehold ownership provides a unique location for this annual event.
Approximately 95 teams from all over Australia, incorporating over 300 dogs of all sizes and descriptions, such as Malamutes and Samoyeds, are expected to compete on a specially designed eight to ten kilometer track around the village.
It is a wonderful spectator event as these delightful creatures frolic in the snow before harnessing up for their dash around the course.
With special accommodation packages available for both competitors and spectators this unique event is one not to be missed.
The 2007 event will be held on the weekend of 11th-12th August. Book early for your accommodation
