Price Freeze on Lift Passes as More Terrain Opens

Road Runner and Playground to Join the Party this Weekend

Hotham Alpine Resort is opening additional terrain to skiers and boarders this weekend as an extremely cold weather pattern continues to produce snow at the resort.

Both Roadrunner and Playground chairlifts will open from Saturday morning, giving access to intermediate terrain such as The Basin and Sun Run.

Moreover, the additional terrain does not mean a price rise for lift passes this weekend. Along with the weather conditions, there is a freeze on lift pass prices too. An adult lift only pass remains value priced at $63, youth is $54 and a child lift only will be $32. This represents a 30% saving on regular prices.

Along with more than half a metre of cumulative natural snowfall at Hotham in the last 3 weeks, the cold temperatures at the resort have allowed our snowmaking team to make copious amounts of snow. Since June 6th over 36,000 cubic metres of snow has been made across the resort, which is the equivalent of 3,646 truckloads of snow. Hotham’s natural snowbase now stands at a healthy 34cms in snowmaking areas.

The temperature got down to as low as -6.3C on the mountain last night, and further snow showers are predicted for the next few days. Additional snowfall is also expected next week.
