Keeping your equipment safe with the help of the Victorian Police
Once again this year, Hotham guests had the opportunity to utilise a free equipment marking service offered by the Victorian Police.
Skis and snowboards were engraved free-of-charge as part of the service to help protect guest property in the event of loss, theft and most commonly at ski resorts, mistaken identity.
The service ran until Friday 14th August with Acting Senior Sergeant Pete Sambell and Sergeant Adrian Keltie located opposite the Village Chair.
The identification process helps the police to return recovered equipment to rightful owners as they can recognise who owns the skis. “Quite often this is due to people using rental equipment and mistaking their skis for those owned by someone else,” said Sergeant Keltie, Victoria Police PR and Marketing.
It is important for guests to take responsibility for their equipment. When you collect your equipment after a break, make sure you pick up the right gear and ensure you collect all belongings off the bus each time.
