Enjoying the BigD - photo Al Young

Hotham’s Big D area opened for skiing and Boarding yesterday, with many resort guests making full use of the snow. Opening the BigD was made possible through extensive snowmaking and a 7cm snowfall on Saturday night. A massive 21000 cubic metres of snow has been made across the resort.

This is a great opportunity to get some early turns in and loosening up those skiing muscles prior to further terrain opening.

Private and group lessons are also being offered to both adults and kids. Adult lessons can be booked through the Snowsports Centre by calling (03) 5759 4430 and lessons for children can easily be arranged via the Kids Snowzone on (03) 5759 4429. For the first time in 2006 all kids enrolled in a Snowzone program get FREE use of a helmet.
