Hotham’s extreme zones can challenge the best skiers and riders. Join in a black or double black diamond workshop as part of a standard group lesson. Learn tips to master trees, bumps, powder or the park.

What: Take your skiing to the next level with the best in snowsports education. This 5 day, all mountain ski course will pair you with elite ski instructors from the Hotham Academy. During the fun filled week you will push your advanced level skiing using our proven methods with video analysis, equipment evaluation and tech talks to achieve your goals.

When: Saturday 15 June 2013 from 8.45am
What: There are a number of full-time and part-time positions to join the Hotham Snowsports Centre as a ski or snowboard instructor for the 2013 season. In order to assess all applicants as fairly as possible, the Hotham Snowsports Centre will be conducting dedicated and separate Skills Clinics for ski and snowboard (both for first-time instructors and instructors with experience) over 2 days. Successful candidates from the 2 day clinic will be invited to train (FOC) as Entry Level Instructors for three days starting the following Monday (17th June) with the Hotham Snowsports Centre. The Skills Clinic will consist of a comprehensive overview of ski and snowboard instruction, what it is like to work in a ski school, employment conditions and of course plenty of snow time and ski/board improvement.
Price: $249 which includes all lift tickets, and 12 hours instruction over two days.

When: 22 - 28 June 2013
What: The Hotham Academy jump start program provides you with all the knowledge and skills to achieve your goal of becoming a certified ski instructor with the APSI (Australian Professional Snowsports Association). During the Academy course you will work on all aspects of your own skiing demonstrations and free skiing to an instructor level. You will also be trained on entry level ski instruction theory and teaching concepts making sure you enter the APSI Level 1 course confident and prepared.
Price: $1340 for the 7 days.

The Australian Ski Areas Association recommends the wearing of helmets for skiing and riding, and encouraged you to educate yourself on the benefits and limitations of helmet usage.
All guest participants in what is generally known as Kids and Children’s Snowsports School Programs be required to wear an accredited ski or snowboard helmet, and that there be no opt out facility or ability by a parent or guardian.
All guest participants, of whatever age, in Snowsports School or other resort departments such as Resort Team or Winter Sports Clubs, which involve or include terrain parks, pipes, skier/boarder cross and/or race courses be required to wear an accredited ski or snowboard helmet.
Helmets are compulsory for all students in snowsports lessons. Hotham Sports will provide this as part of the rental package.
