Hotham has great terrain for beginners with easy walk-on slopes for adults at the Summit and a whole area dedicated for Kids at the Big D Kids Snowzone.
There are two seasons for lesson times;
8 June to 28 June and 16 September to 29 September - Adults: 10am only, Kids Snowzone: AM Half Day only (9.15am-12.30pm)
29 June to 15 September - Adults: 10am and 1.30pm, Kids Snowzone: AM Half Day (9.15am-12.30pm) and Full Day including lunch (9.15am-3.30pm)
An initial $3.00 RFID media fee (per person) is applicable where a lift product is purchased. This is additional to the lift ticket cost (e.g. Adult Learn to Ski 5 Day: $576 + $3 (RFID media) = $579). Your RFID media can be used for future trips, even next season!

Guests at Hotham can learn to ski or snowboard at any time throughout the season with Hotham's dedicated snowsports experts at the Hotham Snowsports Schools for adults and kids. However, Learn to Ski Week is specifically designed to provide an occasion for first timers, no matter how young or old to hit the slopes in a supportive environment along with other visitors who are new to the snow.
During Learn to Ski Week only you can purchase:
• Adult beginner lift and lesson package
• Equipment hire (skis, boots and poles OR snowboard and boots)
• All for a $99 per day flat rate
• Available via the eStore ONLY when purchased 3 days in advance.

The 1 and 2 Day Program includes:
One/two day unlimited use of the Big D Quad, the Summit Quad, the Summit Trainer and Road Runner lifts plus a two hour group lesson*  designed for beginners (level 1 and 2 only).
* Child lesson runs for 3 hours from the Big D beginning at 9.15am (1 day only)
* Adult/Youth Lessons run for 2 hours from Hotham Central at either 10am or 1.30pm (1.30pm lesson only during peak season)
The 3 - 5 Day Program includes:
First two days unlimited use of the Big D Quad, the Summit Quad, the Summit Trainer and Road Runner lifts plus a two hour group lesson* (each day) designed for beginners; then graduating on the third day to an ALL mountain lift and lesson pass.
* Adult/Youth Lessons run for 2 hours from Hotham Central at either 10am or 1.30pm (1.30pm lesson only during peak season)Â

The First Time Advantage Learn to Ski/Board Package is designed for those first time skiers/boarders who want to get going on the slopes with a small like minded group. With a maximum of 5 students you will receive more individual attention that will enhance your experience and get you skiing riding the lifts within two hours (lesson duration 2 hours for two or more students, reverting to 1 hour for one guest only).
If for some reason you do not ride a lift during this lesson you will be entitled to attend any of our 10am or 1.30pm beginner lessons free of charge until you do so.
