Ski Masterclasses: Master the Mountain

Reach your peak and improve your skiing with Hotham's ski coaching sessions for advanced skiers.

Guided by Hotham's elite ski coaches, you'll master the powder, steeps, deeps, moguls, trees, or refine your carving style in the groomers. Each session is all about fine tuning your skills in specific ski disciplines, with a different focus in each session over the week.

When: 10am and 1.30pm during peak season 25 June - 4 September only (not available off peak).
Price: 1 session: $70  | week course (5 sessions): $263

Snowboard Masterclasses: Shred Like a Local

Advanced snowboard sessions that will crank up your riding style and show you some locals' favourite riding spots around the mountain.

Guided by Hotham's most experienced snowboard coaches, you'll get into the parks, out on to the steeps, finding natural features in and around the trees and shredding like a local.  Each session will get you riding like a boss with a different focus in each session over the week.

Snowsports Skills Centre Clinic: Become an instructor in 2016

Improve your skiing and snowboarding with Hotham's two day ski and snowboard clinic and you could turn your passion into a career as an instructor.

There are a number of full-time and part-time positions to join the Hotham Snowsports Centre as a ski or snowboard instructor for the 2014 season. In order to assess all applicants as fairly as possible, the Hotham Snowsports Centre will conduct Skills Clinics for ski and snowboard (both for first-time instructors and instructors with experience) over 2 days. The Skills Clinic will consist of a comprehensive overview of ski and snowboard instruction, what it is like to work in a ski school, employment conditions and of course plenty of snow time and ski/board improvement. 

When: 8.45am - 5pm 18 - 19 June 2016
Price: $249 which includes all lift tickets, and 12 hours instruction over two days.

Women’s Week: ski or snowboard

Six hours per day of instruction in a supportive environment with other women. Enjoy optional sessions on women’s equipment, ski alignment and tuning and fitness. Enjoy a 1/2 hr massage at Hotham’s White Spa (included in price, must be prebooked).

When: 25-29 July 2016
Level: Intermediate (Level 4/Blue) or above. Minimum 4 participants
Price: $899 (Excludes lift pass)

Hotham Freeski: Adult Accelerated Free Ride

Training offered in the Freeskiing disciplines of Slope Style (terrain parks), Ski Cross, Moguls, Aerials, Big Mountain, Free Ride (all mountain). You'll recieve individualized attention in whatever you want to learn, with a participant to coach ratio of 6:1.

When: Sessions are avilable in 3 hour blocks (mornings only, 15 hrs total) or 6 hr blocks (all day, 30 hrs total). 2015 dates TBC.
Price: 2016 prices TBC.

Hotham Academy: All Mountain Technique and Tactics Course

Take your skiing to the next level with the best in snowsports education. This 5 day, all mountain ski course will pair you with elite ski instructors from the Hotham Academy. During the fun filled week you will push your advanced level skiing using our proven methods with video analysis, equipment evaluation and tech talks to achieve your goals.

Hotham Academy: Level 1 Ski Instructor Jump Start Program

The Hotham Academy jump start program provides you with all the knowledge and skills to achieve your goal of becoming a certified ski instructor with the APSI (Australian Professional Snowsports Association). During the Academy course you will work on all aspects of your own skiing demonstrations and free skiing to an instructor level.  You will also be trained on entry level ski instruction theory and teaching concepts making sure you enter the APSI Level 1 course confident and prepared.

Hotham Academy: Carving Camp

The Hotham Academy’s 2 day Carving Camp is an exciting new course added to our line up this season. Our specialised training staff will address fundamental weaknesses in your technique to help you carve the early morning corduroy with more precision and less effort then ever before. Come and join us for a fun filled weekend jam packed with expert tuition, video analysis, equipment evaluations and of course some Apres fun!

Skimetric Program: ski only

Hotham Race Squad

Whether you’re at Hotham for a long or short stay, check out the Hotham Race Squad who can also assist in achieving your snowsports goals. Programs are available for kids and adults to get involved in ski racing, take your talents to the next level or just develop your skiing.

The Australian Ski Areas Association recommends the wearing of helmets for skiing and riding, and encouraged you to educate yourself on the benefits and limitations of helmet usage.

All guest participants in what is generally known as Kids and Children’s Snowsports School Programs be required to wear an accredited ski or snowboard helmet, and that there be no opt out facility or ability by a parent or guardian. 

All guest participants, of whatever age, in Snowsports School or other resort departments such as Resort Team or Winter Sports Clubs, which involve or include terrain parks, pipes, skier/boarder cross and/or race courses be required to wear an accredited ski or snowboard helmet.

Helmets are compulsory for all students in snowsports lessons. Hotham Sports will provide this as part of the rental package.
