Dinner Plain is a relaxed alpine village nestled between snowgums on the highest freehold land in Australia. Located only 11km from Hotham it is busy in winter with skiers and visitors enjoying the alpine atmosphere and in summer visitors come to bush walk, horse ride, fly fish and just relax amongst the earthy tones of this natural setting.

Dinner Plain in winter is a place where the family can be together by the fireside or miles apart exploring the cross country trail network. You can stroll the snowlined streets simply for the sights or to meet friends for a restaurant dinner or drinks at the bar. The village itself helps set the community atmosphere, natural building materials and earthy tones blur the line between man made and alpine environments.

There are over 200 lodges and chalets boasting all the conveniences of a modern ski resort.

For something a little different, Dinner Plain Trail Rides offers winter horse rides through the snow. There's a ski lift for beginner and intermediate skiers and boarders and a Ski School to help you learn how. There is an extensive cross country trail network meandering around the village and the great challenge is the 14km trail from Dinner Plain to Hotham.

A regular shuttle bus connects Dinner Plain to Hotham several times a day. Timetables area available from accommodation providers or download from the link below.
