Winter is back! After what felt like spring, snow is finally falling again and temperatures have dropped. We have another event filled week ahead of us with the annual Advance Sled Dog Challenge on this weekend in Dinner Plain. Both the A La Carte in the Park Hot Ham Banked Slalom and the Hotham Banked Slalom on Gun Barrel this Saturday, head up Heavenly Valley to check out the competition. International snowmobiling champion Jimmy Blaze is back this year along with Cory Davis. Last year Jimmy Blaze wowed crowds pulling out a black flip on his snowmobile, so make sure you head to the base of the Summit on Saturday evening to catch all the action. According to various weather forecasts it looks like Friday is going to be a beautiful sunny day so if you’re going to be on the mountain why not book the Heli Link to Falls Creek. After an amazing 6 minute flight to Falls Creek you could be shredding their slopes for $130 per person. Stop by the Guest Services Desk in Hotham Central or call us on (03)5759 4470...

Another beautiful bluebird day today, after some snowfalls earlier this week (15cm in the past week)! The helicopter is flying, and the skiing is great. Our season to date snowfall is 341cm, making 2010 the snowiest season since 2004.
This weekend we have one of our funnest events taking place - the Spring Cup! Enter as a team of 3 or an individual. Saturday is the Giant Slalom ski race - any levels are welcome - the competitor with the most consistent (not the fastest) time is the winner. Skiers, boarders or tobboganists are welcome! The race will be taking place on Sun Run, so even if you're not competing come along and check it out!
Sunday is Golf Day - 18 holes at the Bright Country Club - the comp kicks off at 9am. Register with us at Guest Services - $10 for the skiing or $25 for the golf.
Don't forget it's now value season, so ticket prices are reduced - One day lift passes are now $80 (adult), $68 (youth) and $40 (child).
Enjoy the sunshine!

Spring is here and it's been a great week here at Hotham. We've had a nice dusting of snow to top up the base and the sun has been shining. Tuesday and Wednesday was what spring is all about...blue skies and plenty of fun to be had on the groomers. It is currently snowing, but tomorrow and Sunday are forecasted to be sunny, so it should be a great weekend.
If you're up at Hotham this weekend make sure you check out the Spring Session Sorbet Slope style presented by Oakley on the Summit on Sunday. All the action kicks off at 10:30am, so head up the Summit chair to check it out and listen to DJ Eddy busting out some tunes.
What better time than now to catch the helicopter over to Falls Creek and check out their terrain or do a Scenic flight over Hotham. Contact us on (03) 5759 4469 for further info and bookings. The heli will be running right up until the end of the season - October 3rd.

What a wild weekend we've had of weather! We've seen everything - from heavy raindrops and a landslip on Saturday to snowflakes on Sunday things are now starting to settle down! 10cm fell overnight, and it's still snowing, creating powder turns for us again today! The next two days are forecast to be sunny, then more snow is on the way for Thursday.Keoghs/Orchard and Gotcha are reopening today, and the landslip cleanup at Village chair is well underway, so it should be back up and running soon. To return from Heavenly Valley chair at the moment, there is a shuttle bus running from Loch Carpark at the top of Heavenly Valley chair, or take Mother Johnsons return to Road Runner chair and ski back to the village. If you're heading up to the resort over the next couple of days please keep an eye on the VicRoads website. Currently the Great Alpine Road is closed between Bright and the Hume Hwy due to flooding, so access to Hotham from that side is limited. We would reccommend the Omeo approach if you're travelling to...

The only way to describe the past 48 hours here at Hotham is Epic!! We have had 82cm of the fluffiest, driest powder fall, you would be mistaken for thinking you were in North America. The whole resort is buzzing with excitement and everyone seems to have a big smile on their faces. With the entire mountain open there are still plenty of powder stashes to be found. More snow is forecast and it looks like we will crack the 2m mark soon!

Had enough of the snow yet? There's more on the way! Great news for all our weekend warriors - the forecast is showing more snow right through this week (5-10cm today and Wed, 5cm Thurs), then sunny (finally!) for the weekend.
Now that we have all of our lifts open we are able to operate Kat Skiing out to Golden Point. This is one for the advanced skiers and boarders, and is a completely free service. The Kat picks you up from the track out to Spargo's at the top of Orchard chair, taking you right out to the faces that otherwise can only be accessed by walking!
For those that would rather just kick back and ride in the heated Kat, why not take a grooming tour. You can book them through us at Guest Services - tours run every evening except Fridays and Sundays, and for $35 per person you can go out in the groomer for 30mins and experience the thrill of creating perfect corduroy!

After 42cm of fresh snow over the last week, and a natural snowdepth of 88cm, Mother Nature has blessed us with a fantastic bluebird day. The skies are clear, the helicopter is flying, and the snow is great. We are now running Helicopter scenic flights daily (weather dependant), so on days like today give us a call to book a scenic flight and get a birds eye view of Hotham and Feathertop!News of the day is that Keoghs/Orchard chair will be running as of tomorrow. Our groomers have done a great job pushing all the fresh snow around and consequently the lift that everyone has been waiting for will finally be running! For those that haven't been out there before, these chairs open up alot of fantastic intermediate terrain. Word is that Blue Ribbon is not far off, and may be open by the weekend. There is more snow in the forecast for the rest of the week too, so it's looking good!If you're around Hotham Central this afternoon drop in to the sales deck next to Guest Services and try some wine from Beechworth winery...

Exciting day today - one of our favourite chairs Blue Ribbon was open to the public for the first time this season. Hogg's Back has been groomed from top to bottom and makes for some great turns!
There are still some fantastic runs to be had all over the mountain after the recent snowfalls. Keoghs/Orchard chair was on wind hold today, but will hopefully be opening tomorrow if the wind drops. This will mean all lifts will be in operation for the first time this season!
See you on the slopes!
